There are only a few. Keebye is driven by one push-to-talk key plus Esc. Everything else lives in the tray menu. ## Keys | Key | Action | | --- | --- | | Right ⌘ / Right Win (hold) | Start dictating (press and hold) | | Release | Stop and insert (release after 400 ms or more) | | Right ⌘ / Right Win (tap) | Hands-free: tap to start, tap again to stop and insert | | Esc | Cancel the current recording; nothing is inserted | ## Choosing the key Right ⌘ is the default on a Mac and the Right Windows key on Windows. The alternatives are Fn / Globe, Left ⌘, Left ⌥, and Right ⌥ — on Windows, Right Ctrl, the Left Windows key, Left Alt, and Right Alt — chosen in onboarding or Settings › Push-to-talk hotkey. A recording stops on its own after 5 minutes. > **Note:** The key you pick is reserved for Keebye while dictation is on, so it won't work as a shortcut modifier. Pick a left-hand key only if you don't use it for shortcuts, such as ⌘C on a Mac. ## Tray-only actions Copy Last Dictation, Dictation History…, Dictation Language, Settings…, Enable Dictation, and Quit Keebye are reached only from the menu bar icon on a Mac or the system tray icon on Windows. They have no keyboard shortcuts, and no other shortcuts exist.
