No wake word, no cloud transcription, no model deciding what you meant. Every step below runs locally.
Hold to talk, tap to toggle
The microphone is live exactly while you hold the hotkey — Right ⌘ by default, Fn or Right ⌥ if you prefer. Tap once for a longer dictation. Esc cancels.
Lands in the terminal, too
Keebye pastes into the focused app with terminal-aware chunking. Turn on synthetic typing and it works over SSH, inside tmux, and on non-QWERTY layouts.
Say it messy. It lands clean.
Fillers, false starts and doubled words are stripped by deterministic rules. An optional polish pass runs a local LLM — also entirely on-device.

The default engine is English-tuned; opt into Canary for 25 languages or use Apple's native engine. A custom dictionary teaches Keebye your product names once.

No. All speech-to-text engines run on-device. The network is used to download models, check for app updates, and confirm your trial or plan — never to send audio.

No — Keebye is a paid app with a 14-day full-featured free trial, no card required. The trial starts the first time you sign in from the app, not when you create your account. We'd rather give you the whole product for two weeks than a metered version forever.
macOS today. A Windows port exists in the codebase but hasn't shipped a build yet, so we don't advertise it.
When your trial ends, you can't start a new dictation until a paid plan is active — anything already in progress can finish. There's no surprise charge: the trial takes no card, so doing nothing costs nothing. Subscriptions can be cancelled anytime and run to the end of the billing period.
