Settings

Open Settings from the tray menu ("Settings…") or by launching Keebye a second time. Every control saves immediately; "Saved" flashes in the status bar. Settings live in ~/Library/Application Support/com.keebye.app/settings.json; a corrupt file resets to defaults.

Account

• Your email and a plan badge: "pro", "trial · N days left", or "trial ended".
• "Upgrade to Pro" — hidden once you are on Pro.
• "Sign out".
• When signed out: "Not signed in — dictation is paused until you sign in." and a "Sign in…" button.

Push-to-talk hotkey

• "Hold this key to dictate; release to insert."
• Radios: Fn / Globe · Left ⌘ · Right ⌘ (default) · Left ⌥ · Right ⌥.

Dictionary

• "Replace spoken words with fixed spellings."
• Fields "heard as…" and "write as…", with Add and Remove.

Enhancement

• "Clean up transcripts by default" — on.
• "Per-app overrides:" — shows "No per-app overrides." until you add one.
• "Add current app…".

Speech engine

• "Native (Apple Speech) — free, no download"
• "Parakeet — Standard (Int8) — ~640 MB" — default.
• "Parakeet — Max (FP32) — ~2.4 GB"
• "Canary — Multilingual (Int8) — ~1 GB"
• "Download model (~size)" for an engine that is not on disk yet.
• Language (25 options) and "Translate to English as I speak" (off) — Canary only.

History

• "Save dictation history on this device" — on.
• "Encrypt history on this device" — on. Takes effect after restarting Keebye.
• "Open dictation history…".

Behavior

• Insert by "Paste (fast)" (default) or "Typing (terminals / SSH / any layout)".
• Hint: "Typing" sends keystrokes instead of pasting — slower, but works in terminals over SSH/tmux and with non-QWERTY keyboard layouts, and never touches your clipboard.
• "Restore clipboard after paste" — on.
• "Launch at login" — off. Uses a LaunchAgent.
