Shortcuts

Every key Keebye responds to. There are only a few.

Keebye is driven by one push-to-talk key plus Esc. Everything else lives in the tray menu.

Keys

Start dictating (press and hold): Right ⌘ (hold)
Stop and insert (release after 400 ms or more): Release
Hands-free: tap to start, tap again to stop and insert: Right ⌘ (tap)
Cancel the current recording; nothing is inserted: Esc

Choosing the key

Right ⌘ is the default. The alternatives are Fn / Globe, Left ⌘, Left ⌥, and Right ⌥, chosen in onboarding or Settings › Push-to-talk hotkey. A recording stops on its own after 5 minutes.

Tray-only actions

Copy Last Dictation, Dictation History…, Dictation Language, Settings…, Enable Dictation, and Quit Keebye are reached from the menu bar icon only. They have no keyboard shortcuts, and no other shortcuts exist.
